10 Things to Help You Stay Healthy this Summer

So I don't know about you, but it's already summer in my mind. It's 70 degrees today in NYC, and I'm sitting on my porch in a bikini. Summer is my favorite season, and as soon a bikinis go on sale, I'm getting ready for summer days.

It's so easy to forget about your health in the summer. I get easily distracted from wellness when I'm so excited to get to the beach, working long hours at my summer job, and squeezing in plans with friends everyday. In the spirit of health and wellness, here are some of the products I'm stocking up on now to be prepared for a summer of fun...

Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen

Okay, this one is obvious, but seriously...sunscreen is important! I have super sensitive skin, and I break out from most sunscreens. Hawaiian Tropic not only hydrates my skin, but it smells like coconuts and makes my skin sparkle. I'm super pale and burn easily, so trust me...you should try this one!

Coconut Oil

A friend shared with me her best kept secret: putting coconut oil on your skin after shaving prevents razor bumps! I'm always skeptical about products because of my sensitive skin, but this was a game changer for me. If you're like me and you prefer to shave all summer long, definitely add this to your shopping list.

Hydroflask

Call me a VSCO girl, but my Hydroflask was such a good investment. I'm a big water drinker already, but I've never found a water bottle that really kept my drink nice and cold on a long beach day until I got a Hydroflask. They're a little bit pricier, but they're really worth the money. If you're on a budget, I've found similar ones at TJ Maxx, too!

Popsicle Makers

I'm super excited to try these! Make your own popsicles with these molds and a freezer. It's a great way to get a healthy treat on a sunny day.

Watermelon

You can't really stock up in this, but watermelon is definitely something to work into your diet (and not just because of Harry Styles). Watermelon is great for hydration, and is high in Vitamins C and B6, and is great for bone and heart health, too!

Scrunchies

It's always ponytail season in my world, but the hotter it gets the more likely you are to get your long hair out of your face. Scrunchies help reduce breakage, and are super cute, too!

These are my favorite homemade ones from Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PrettyInBowsShop?ref=usf_2020

All Natural Deodorant

I've gotten on the aluminum free craze, but I didn't find a natural deodorant until I was introduced to Humble! It smells good, it feels good, it's good FOR you, and it WORKS. It'll fit in your budget, too.

Leave in Conditioner

Does your hair get dried out from the sunshine and salty ocean? Try a revitalizing spray, like SunBum's 3-in-1!

Yoga mat

Sunshine is the perfect setting o some outdoor yoga! Never tried it before? There are plenty of remote and pre-recorded classes online that are great for beginners! Try something new to stay active this summer!

Bike, Roller Skates, Hula-Hoops, & More

Speaking of staying active...why not try a new hobby or bring back a childhood favorite? Last summer, I got on a bike for the first time in years and fell in love all over again. Roller skates are more than just a TikTok trend...they're great way to stay fit and have fun! Thinking of something more stationary? My friend just started hula-hopping with a weighted hula hoop to work on her core muscles.
